My life as a book opinioner
Today while I was checking my Goodreads profile, I saw I had written opinions on quite a few books. They are not very detailed, but I am glad I had some things to say about books. It's been some time now, since I have expressed anything. I will get back to writing about books soon.

The Naturalist
"(CAUTION: Spoiler-ish review ahead. It is not entirely a spoiler, as it is not very difficult to guess the things I discuss here, just by reading synopsis.)
The first two-thirds were superbly written, tightly plotted. It was even scary at some points in the novel. And, using data analytics to catch serial killer, to recognize the patterns in his killings is what makes this book standout. Though it is not very convincing, it makes for great plot. I am not sure if the similar plot device has been employed before. But it's a great idea, if used in right way.
But all that setup fizzled out and it became generic thriller in the last one-third. I guess, author wanted to end it somehow, and played it safe. And, it is frustrating to see such setup going for a waste.
So, it seemed like two authors wrote this book.
All I can say is less action, more analytics and investigation would have been great."

Marvels
"I had always thought of being a citizen of superhero world. Superheroes swinging by your window, flying above your house, saving me from certain dangers, getting politically involved, giving comments on events, attending award ceremonies....and many more things which happen at cities. And then, I came across this book by accident. I bought this book because of the artwork(it blown me to the core) and later realized that its more than beautiful artwork. Once in a lifetime chance and I grabbed it by chance:) So my suggestion to others search thoroughly through old book stores and get this book. This is a must have.
What better character than that of a photographer, who is a witness to key events and has a family to look after, hears words spoken at the back....It was like thoughts coming true:)
Hopefully I get such chances every time I visit the book stores:)"
==========
Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?
"The only steampunk book I have read(To current date). Only Alan Moore could have thought to bring famous literary characters together to make an extraordinary league of gentlemen:) Full of superb imagination...only flaw being, one of my favorite characters(Sherlock Holmes, though has a small presence), not being part of the league.
And only Alan Moore could have thought of giving weird after-profiles for the characters:) Allan Quatermain, a drug addict...What a thought:) Feels more human:)"

Luka and the Fire of Life
"This first part of my thoughts on this book is for people who've read this book (not sure about others).
It was so much pun reading this book. During the last pages, my Nobody and Nonsense could not put it down. If you are not dogged down by too much of puns throughout the book, and can bear the initial some-part-of-where-all-this-is-leading-to-ness, then I suggest one time read.
Now this part is for all. This is my first Salman Rushdie book. It took some time to cover first half of the book (no exact reason) and it was occasionally interesting. But, the second half was so much fun to read. Now, first half tried really hard to bring my rating stars down, but the second half fought harder and won my five rating stars. Well deserved, second half. You deserved it."

The Krishna Key
"This book kept me engrossed throughout the read. But, at the end, I got the sense of incompleteness. This cannot be compared with Ashwin Sanghi's previous work, 'Chanakya's chant'. One good thing about this book is the attempt to blur the lines between history and mythology. A not-bad-one-time-read book."

The Bachelor of Arts
"Amazonia is amazing in many aspects. But still in the end feels like a regular adventure-thriller story. Some of the things like rangers, doctors on expedition, were there in many stories. So, just another good adventure book."
"A good time-pass book. Time flew while I read the book. Action scenes well described."
It made me think about my viewpoint of those books. The more one sees the world (literarily, physically and virtually) the opinions keep changing, one keeps gaining perspectives. I might not feel the same way about those books now. I might even have to re-read a few books to see if my feelings have changed for them. That being said, I am not going to edit my opinions for those books. I might want to add something in the future, but will not edit or remove my old opinions. Sole reason being, that was an honest and true thing for me, at that point of time.
Whatever I wrote about books until today in Goodreads, I am replicating them as is here-

Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?
"Superman dead?! The world surely feels fearful place:) Whatever happened to him? The possibility of Alternate reality helped in making superheroes mortals.
The only problem with the book is it contains a story about the end of Superman:( The story is not bad, but the premise is.
This book speaks of the possibility."

The Lost Symbol
"However good is Dan Brown, I cannot give his books more than three stars(No explanation).
This book is fast paced, well written, and everything good about a book.
But, still in the end I wasn't thrilled as I was after I had completed reading Digital Fortress.
But still I give thumbs up for the links he creates among the characters and sub-plots."

The Castle Conundrum
"A fair mystery it was. I read this when I was 13(I guess!). My age was within range to read Hardy Boys. I remember a part where one of the Hardy boys escapes an accident and gets tagged as Monsieur Tarzan:) And I read that chapter again, just because I liked Tarzan!:) I know this is not exactly a review, but, I like writing about it:)"
==========
Bone
"What Imagination! Humorous-Fantasy at its best:) I enjoyed reading this. The characters were amazing. The setting was awesome. The story superb. Read all the books in one go and my mother was complaining about my laughter's disturbing her TV shows:) Reading again and again and never getting bored of it...and I don't want to:)"
==========
Deception Point
"Well, a Dan Brown book. It took the shortest time among all of his books:) One of the best conspiracy books. It was fast paced, well connected sub-plots.
But, felt some of things to easily done. Like Gabrielle getting inside Sexton's office...Well could have been thrilling, those parts.
Overall, a good book."

Mortal Engines
"Moving Cities! Nothing motivated me more than this, to read this book. The city of london on wheels, the unlikely heroes, and many other things make this novel a good read. I was never bored throughout the book and even at three years after reading the book the ending battle scenes are still in my mind."

"A nice book. Contains many of my favorite movies like 'The Dark Knight', 'Drive', shown using infographics. Also got to know story of many famous movies with main elements depicted. This was the fastest book I finished. Just like the writers mentioned - in moments."

"My First and only mistake that made this book loose a bit of steam: I watched the movie first(I don't dislike Ron Howard movies:)).
Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading this book. No one can match the pace Dan Brown creates, with so many details.
There were many things which were not part of the movie, like the final fight between Robert and the assassin to save the lady, Vittoria.
Dan Brown, in my opinion, you rule this genre(which is quite complicated to describe)."

"Who guards the guardians? A question I saw in a wall while travelling to my workplace. It lingered in my mind and never thought it would connect with this book. Superbly written, well drawn, nothing can match this. Even today it gives a feeling of new. Well the movie is another thing(Zack Snyder, you are awesome:). He spoke through the movie to me and asked me to read the book:)), this book is good in all place:)"
